Visiting regenerative sites with a veteran permaculture designer as the tour guide can be a rich and deep experience. See the elements of permaculture in action while having them explained and getting your questions answered about them , etc. We will tour three different regenerative sites in Pinellas County to get a good overview of what is being done in our area to create sustainable landscapes and human systems.
Example of sites we will see:
1. An urban homestead - This site has beautiful fruit trees, edible landscaping, annual gardens, plus bees, chickens, solar and more.
2. A platinum LEED green building - We will examine strategies you can use to retrofit your home, and learn about how to increase yields in your home
3. A community permaculture site - See the various ways that permaculture can integrate with a community to enrich it, as well as produce a great garden!
You will see a variety of unusual and familiar edible plant selections, where they do well in the landscape, how to increase the yield of your home, reduce costs and energy use, learn about a variety of options for landscaping your home, see some appropriate tech devices such as sun ovens, and more. You will go home with cuttings of some plants.
