SUMMARY:Volunteer Weekend at Our Permaculture Farm
DESCRIPTION:🌿👩🏼‍🌾🦋 We’d love to invite you to participate in our Farm Weekend event where you will interact with our new Farm Team\, get hands-on experience with installing farm systems\, learn more about permaculture\, and build community with us. \n🌻🐓🍀 Our Permaculture Farm is a cooperative farm on 10 acres sandhill near Brooksville\, FL. We grow superfoods and medicine in food forests and gardens while healing the earth\, supporting wildlife and caring for each other and our community. \n🌞🏕🥗 This weekend will focus on expanding our public facilities\, adding native and useful plant communities\, sharing knowledge about permaculture and practical homesteading skills\, breaking bread together and celebrating the natural world and each other. Some of the things we may work on include building outdoor shelter\, prepping and planting food hedges and native plant communities\, and garden work. \n🏕 We have primitive camping on site - stay overnight and enjoy the stars\, the sounds of nature\, and our biochar campfire pit\, on us!! We have outdoor shower and toilet facilities and peaceful camp sites. \n🥕🥥🍴 Bring ingredients for shared meals like veggies or fruit\, and/or bring your own prepared potluck dishes for the meals you will be present for. Keep it organic where you can! \n✨ Come to the whole event or parts of it! \n🙏🏼🕊 We are asking for donations of $20-100 to help us cover food costs\, facilitators and materials. Similar events can cost $100 or more\, but we are striving to make this event accessible for all. \nFriday\n4:00 pm - Gather and Introductions\n4:30 pm - Healing through Regenerative Living\n6:30 pm - Dinner - Bring your own food\n7:30 pm - Campfire\, mix & mingle\nOvernight primitive camping (optional) \nSaturday\n8:30-9:30 am - Potluck breakfast\n9:30 am - Orientation\n9:45 am - Volunteer session 1\n12:30 pm - Potluck lunch\n1:45 pm - Intro to Permaculture\n4:30 pm - Volunteer session 2\n7:00 pm - Potluck dinner\n8:00 pm - Campfire\, jams & dance\nOvernight primitive camping (if you’d like to stay) \nSunday\nEat your own breakfast or share\nPack up and say goodbyes! \n🌹🍀🐝 Please donate what you can\, thank you!

DESCRIPTION:We will hold a special edible and native plant sale and demonstrate that it is possible to feed yourself from your yard. We have done it! In this class we will cover some of the top “survival” foods you can grow with minimal care and maximum yields. Learn how and when to plant them\, how to propagate them (to expand your garden\, or share with friends and neighbors so they have food too)\, how much you need to feed yourself\, and more. We believe everybody can grow some of their own food\, and we guide you on how to get the most yield for the time and effort put in regardless of your circumstances. Whether you need it for hard times or not - it is pure pleasure to go out to your yard and harvest delicious\, super healthy food you grew yourself. These foods will all thrive in hot Florida summers. We will have these for sale in our nursery. \nHand out provided. \nThis class is limited to 15 people so reserve early! $25\, includes 1 plant and take home materials. \nPay/reserve a seat here!
